Deputy Inspector General of Police (East) Azfar Mahesar said that the terrorists riding a motorcycle tried to hit the van of Japanese nationals near Murtaza Chowringhee in Landhi. It is said that these citizens of Japan work in Pakistan Suzuki Motors.


Deputy Inspector General Mahesar said, 'All five Japanese nationals are safe but the private security guard accompanying them has been injured.' He said, 'The Japanese nationals were going from their residence in Zamzama, Clifton towards the 'Export Processing Area'.'

Deputy Inspector General of Anti-Terrorism Department Asif Aijaz Sheikh said that the Japanese national was traveling in a van with two security personnel when the terrorists tried to ram their van. He said that the security personnel killed one terrorist, while the other blew himself up while getting close to the van.

Sheikh said that 'all five Japanese citizens are safe.' He said that no one has yet taken responsibility for this attack. The vehicle of Japanese citizens was Bullet Fruit.
Jinnah Hospital officials said that a total of three injured - two security personnel and a passerby - were brought to the medical centre, of which the condition of two is critical. The hospital has confirmed that no foreign national has been brought to the hospital. The official said that the Japanese nationals used to work in Pakistan Suzuki Motors.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly condemned the attack. He said, 'Timely police action foiled the nefarious intentions of the terrorists. Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori condemned the suicide attack and called for a report on the incident. He said, 'Terrorism will not be tolerated in the city under any circumstances.'
