HARYANA NEWS HUB (Bureau): An unmanned reconnaissance aircraft crashed in Pithala-Jaziya village of Jaisalmer on Thursday morning. There is no information about any loss of life or property in the accident. There was panic in the area after the incident. According to preliminary information, an Air Force reconnaissance aircraft had taken off on Thursday morning to take stock of the security arrangements in the border area. It is feared that after this the plane suddenly crashed due to some technical glitches and fell on the sandy shores away from the populated area.
However, there was no loss of life or property as the plane crashed in a deserted area. Air Force officials reached the spot and took stock of the wreckage of the plane. The news of the incident spread like wildfire in the surrounding rural areas and a large number of villagers gathered at the spot.
After some time Jaisalmer police also reached the spot. As a precautionary measure, ambulance, fire brigade and rescue and relief vehicles also reached the spot. On the other hand, according to the information received from Jaisalmer Police Control Room, at present information about plane crash has been received. Since Air Force officials are inspecting the spot, the reasons for the accident have not been revealed yet.
Formation of Court of Inquiry:
The Indian Air Force issued a statement regarding the accident saying that the remotely operated aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer on Thursday morning during a routine training flight. There was no damage to any personnel or property. An Indian Air Force Court of Inquiry has been constituted to find out the cause of the accident.
